Present Paths: Earth, Session 1- Friday, November 1st, 9:00-11:00am
Mindful, present hiking to help release loss. This loss is defined by you (examples: loss of health, loss by divorce or breakup, loss of career, loss of a person either by death or ending of a friendship, loss of identity, loss of a pet, loss of a home, loss of time for self-care, loss of summer, and the list goes on). You will not be put on the spot to identify your loss to anyone at the event. We'll use the elements of nature to help heal.
Rain or shine! in the event of a natural disaster or rain so hard that it’s miserable to hike in, we’ll offer a refund OR credit towards a future hike event. We will be hosting these throughout the year!
This is called Talus Rocks Loop, and is one of my favorites! There are only 11 spots available to keep numbers low. However, there will be two different time slots on the same day. Each will have the capacity of 11 people. More details of the hike at this link: https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/washington/talus-rocks-loop
Discover Pass is required to park in the trailhead parking. However, you can park at 79th Street below the parking lot without a pass and either hike up the road or the annex hike that goes through the woods to the parking lot, or there is an annex trail that goes up there through the trees. It will add an additional .3 of a mile, and we will meet at the trailhead promptly at start time, so please plan accordingly.
What you get: Led by Beck who is Wilderness First Aid Certified and will carry additional first aid supplies and Garmin InReach for the group, if needed. After gathering at the High Point Trailhead (Exit 20 off of I-90), we'll do a short welcome to the event and centering activity, and then hike approximately 2.5 miles Round Trip and 700ft of elevation gain. We'll go at a moderate pace as this is a bit steep, albeit short. The focus will be on the present moment, and there will be cueing along the trail to practice being present with the Earth elements. Be open to the possibilities! Finally, we'll gather at the end for a closing exercise. You will receive a sample of "Basic Forest" tea (a combination of Reishi mushroom, turkey tail, mushroom and rose hips all organically foraged) at the end of our time together!
All ages and all activity levels are welcome. You must provide your email in the purchase and will be sent a consent form ahead of time to fill out and return online. (Paper consent forms can be provided, if needed.)
A summary email will also be sent ahead of time.
